Great little unit, just perfect for the type of work I picked it out for. Like it's versatility, can be mounted on a tripod or used by hand. Worth the extra few quid to step up to this unit if you are going to get lots of use from it..

Upon first inspection the tools look fairly solid and appear to be up to the majority of household tasks. The contents are decent enough, although this is among the most basic of tool sets. The ratchet screwdriver is very good, along with decent quality heads for it. The hammer is described as 'stubby' and this is certainly the case - it is weighty but incredibly short. The pliers are very delicate little things though, not really suited for much more than jewellery repairs.

In terms of quantity / relative size, the tools provided barely covered the bottom of the bag. On one hand this is good, as there is plenty of room for adding other useful bits you might (read: will) need. On the other, however, the kit as a whole does look rather sparse. Since I'm giving this as a housewarming gift, I've been left feeling rather obliged to bulk it out somewhat with other bits and pieces; the Rolson 36816 161pc Pink Tool Kit has proved a good addition even with the duplicated items. I've also added scissors, a utility knife, a set of allen keys, a set of smaller screwdrivers, a far meatier pair of pliers, a nail hammer and some assorted screws and fixings.

One minor niggle, by the way, was that I didn't receive a Rolson branded set, rather a Marksman one. This has no impact on the quality or function of the tools, of course, and they are identical to those pictured, it's just a shame as this was bought as a gift together with the aforementioned Rolson 161pc set and it would have been nice to have been able to present the two as a kit.

Very happy with this purchase. It is a present for my daughter for christmas and am really looking forward to her reaction. Contains everything needed for general DIY jobs, with room in the bag for more tools if needed.

Bought these for the wife to keep indoors, and are ideal for this purpose and bag is big enough to add some better quality bits to it, as screw drivers were not very good quality.

Good, but could have been better. This device performs well in sharping up well maintained but dull blades. What it, and other devices like it, have difficulty with is putting a good edge on a blunt or nicked blade. You will also struggle to improve a blade that has been poorly sharpened by hand, resulting in a curved or irregular bevel. The reason is that these sharpeners have a set angle between the steel and the guide. If you look carefully at it under a magnifying glass, and then offer it up to the blade you are sharpening, you will be able to judge how to hold the sharpener in order to ensure the steel is flat against the bevel of the cutting edge of the blade. This is the key! Get that angle wrong and you simply won't improve the sharpness of the blade. Get it right, and this is a very handy little tool to have around when using the shears, loppers and pruners, especially on big jobs. Strangely, I have not been get much of a result with scissors. Maybe me, or something to do with the different steel used in scissors.

I don't consider the oil sponge to be of much importance, and would caution against allowing the plastic guard to drag along the blade you are sharpening. It is pretty thin. However, you do get a 10 year guarantee. Amazingly, no mention of this in the product description!

Decided to buy this because the reviews were good and I'm all for ease of use. Having borrowed mum's lawn edgers and accidentally left them out in the rain they were blunt and rusty. Used my new sharpener and wow, they work again. Ok they're still a bit rusty - my fault but this sharpener was a doddle to use and did the job in seconds.

A great little gadget which simply and quickly sharpens all garden tools (only 3 or 4 strokes required). No need to dismantle secateurs. The tungsten carbide sits on one side of the V-shape groove, meaning only one side of the blade is sharpened (which is correct). Designed for sharpening right-handed tools.

Having used many rechargable batteries and always being let down i thought i would give it one more go with these. If these had let me down i was going back to ordinary batteries.
What a nice surprise,these really did work and last a long time.Take my advise and buy these as not only do they work properly but you will not get them for this price on the high street.
I am going to get rid off all my other "rechargable" batteries and get more of these.Duracell Supreme AA 2450mAh Rechargeable Pack of 4 Batteries Please buy these and not the cheap rubbish that is out there.

These rechargeable batteries are almost as cheap as single use ones. Whilst not able to say how well they will last over time, they do hold their charge well. Coupled with a fast charger unit, they have replaced all my normal battery uses. Great value. Worth always getting the highest mAh 2450 type.
